HMS Belfast – closed until further notice

Earlier today the brow, which connects HMS Belfast visitors from ship to shore, collapsed. The cause is not known and latest reports state that fortunately, all visitors were evacuated safely.

HMS Belfast is a museum ship permanently moored in London on the River Thames and one of London’s most important historic ships alongside Cutty Sark and SS Robin.  The nine deck warship was launched on 17th March, 1938 and has an amazing military history dating back to the Second World War. A full and urgent investigation is underway.

The historic ship, which is part of the Imperial War Museum, will be closed until further notice.
