SS Robin – Decision Day

Today or perhaps by tomorrow, we will have a decision from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) on SS Robin Trust’s main grant application and a green light for the next phase of the SS Robin project.

Over the summer, Kampfner Development Consultancy (KDC) developed the SS Robin Trust’s Second Round application.  It was an intensive amount of work to produce in a condensed amount of time – and the submission was made, on September 9th, 2011.

Anyone who has gone through the HLF process will know how comprehensive the documentation for an HLF application has to be and some applicants get the feeling they’re having to jump through endless hoops. The point about the application process and subsequent award decision from HLF is not just that the SS Robin Trust will have finance secured to complete the historic ship’s restoration  – it is more than that…. a main grant award from HLF also means that experts from a variety of fields such as historic ship conservation, museum development and business development believe in the project, its potential to deliver benefits and its ability to remain financially sustainable.

Fingers crossed then for that all important green light, and if it’s a red – like the Coalition Government – KDC will support the Trust to find a Plan B.
